A lot of incoming letters! (Part III)

And the last post of my incoming letters for now. But don't be sad, I've a few other posts prepared so there won't be such a long hiatus again! Keep your eyes open :)

Let's start with a letter from my best friend Vanessa from Germany. This one reached me a day before we met in Ireland at the beginning of December, as she wanted me to get it just before our meeting :D It's a Christmas letter and when I opened it I had Christmas confetti all over my bed as I didn't expected that. She also included some Christmas stationary which I haven't used yet, but I'm totally prepared for next years Christmas letters now :D

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This one came from Theresa from Germany. The paper is Harry Potter themed as she knows how much I love it! She also included tea, a Spanish Christmas card and a postcard from Spain. The quote on the leftern side is her favourite one and her nickname "hey_little_fighter" comes from that, I suppose :D
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Here you can see the second letter I received from Betül from Germany. Just a few days before we actually got to meet each other for the first time. She wrote her first letter in English but now decided to start to write in German :D I always find it strange to write or talk in English with people who know German. Is this only me? I can only use English with people who doesn't know my language, haha.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is the most recent letter I received while I'm preparing this post. Bree from America is just way too fast :D This time she finally included some of the pictures she took and I have to admit that she is a really good photographer :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Most of the time the letters from Martine from The Netherlands are really special. This time she decided for a snail theme and included tons of snails :D This was so funny to look through and even harder to take a picture of as I only had little space. I'm not a huge fan of snails BUT her letter still was amazing, somehow!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next pictures show some Christmas and birthday cards I got from my penpals. I won't write something for each of them separately. The one I like to highlight is the little birthday letter of Olivia though. Harry Potter themed. Isn't it lovely? I opened that when I was in Ireland as I've been there for my birthday and this was just amazing!
Thanks again to all the girls who thought about me either for Christmas or my birthday ♥
What a crazy week!
Well, what can I say? My last post was only a week ago, BUT since then I received 11 letters. 11... It's hard to believe for me that all this letters reached me within only one week, but I am so happy to have my lovely pen pals in my life and although I'm a little stuck on replying to each letter right now - imagine you answer 3 letters the one day and the next day you get 3 new - but I love to make every reply special and fitting to the person who receives it ♥ So, today you'll see 11 lovely letters from 11 lovely people from all over the world! The order isn't the actual order I received the letters, they just happened to come that way when I took the pictures earlier!
AND: feel free to leave a comment so I can see that this blog is really worth the effort and people are actually reading what I'm writing ;) Should be possible for everybody by now without any problems. You have to use the left button to send me your comment (better copy your comment before sending so it doesn't get lost if anything will go wrong!)
So, let's start with the first letter I received by Maeva from France (sorry my keyboard can't put the dots above the e, I'm afraid :D) I totally love the envelope! The ghost is so damn cute *_____* And we seem to have a lot in common so I'm curious for her next letter!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The next one I like to show you is from Neus from Spain. Actually somewhere close to Barcelona, but it's easier to pretend she's from there directly :D It was her first letter to me as well and I love the drawings and the autumn touch she gave to the letter.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On to the letter from Jariya. We've exchanged quite a few letters by now and I'm still surprised on how fast letters between our two countries travel. Good for us as she is such a sweet person and I'm always so happy when I've a new letter from her in my mailbox :) And look at this super cute panda ♥
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Another first letter that reached me. Elizabeth from the USA and me only recently decided to become pen pals as she just asked me on Facebook and I can only hardly say "No", so here we are. And I don't regret my decision! We seem to have a lot in common and the paper she used is so pretty! Can't wait for her reply to my letter :) And she used watercolours to paint the envelope. This idea never occured to me before, but maybe I give it a go in the future!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next letter is from my best friend here in Germany: Vanessa. This time I have to post two pictures so you can see her amazing letter! I did some of these as well and it's always so much fun to make them as each and everyone can turn out different when one makes them to the likes of the other :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Then I got an unexpected reply from Lilith from America. Her first letter had been completely about Harry Potter, but this time she was finally talking about herself as well so I could get to know her better. This time we discovered our love for Supernatural ♥ I guess we'll have a lot to talk about in our next letters :D

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next letter came from Anri from Japan. It was only a short one, but the paper was really cute ♥ I LOVE pandas! And now I know what "I love Ireland" in Japanese means :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And here's another first letter. From Sarah from Germany. Actually she only lives about 20-30 minutes by car away from me! Her letter was Halloween themed and I really enjoyed the monsters on the inside of the letter! Looking forward to more letters with this lovely girl!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I also got the third letter from Emma from Scotland. Here letters are always something special as she has the cutest stationary ever! This time she put the envelope into a clear one and put little stars everywhere - actually, after opening it, I had the stars everywhere in my room, on my clothes and on my desk too :D I also really love the stickers she had sent me: Minnie Mouse ♥ So cute!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This post seems to contain a lot of first letters, so here is another one: Martine M. from the Netherlands (I have to put the M. for her last name as I've another Martine from the Netherlands as a pen pal ;D) She has sent me so many cute gifts and I was really speechless when I opened the envelope as I usually don't get gifts like that in a first letter. I especially love the cow! And we seem to have a lot in common, so I can't wait for more letters to be exchanged!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And last but not least I FINALLY got a reply to my letter from Alieke from the Netherlands ♥ I really waited impatiently for her reply as I already loved this girl after her first letter. I've already the feeling I've known her for ages and not only for three months. She also send me a CD of the music she is making with a friend and she is really talented! And she has sent me tea! I LOVE tea so if any of my pen pals really reads this: send me your favourite teas ;)
Latest incoming mail ♥
I decided - for now - that I'll only post my incoming mail as I usually forget to take a picture of the letters I send. Maybe I change that sometime, but for now I do it this way.
Since my last post I got quite a few letters. I also met my penpal Caroline in Dublin. I'll tell you about our meeting tomorrow. Today will be about all my incoming mail! Let's start :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This letter wasn't send to me but given personally by the lovely Caroline when I visited her in Dublin. It's been such a nice letter. And all the little presents she has put in it. She really knows how much I love owls! But the best part was probably the address on the envelope as it says "Back Bedroom" such as the letters to Harry Potter were addressed!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next letter I show you is the first letter I got from the lovely Elena from Bulgaria. Her handwriting is so beautiful ♥ I can't wait to get to know her better!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Another letter I got was from Lilith from America. She seems to be a huge fan of Harry Potter because her whole letter was related to the wizard. Not that I'd complain! Really curious how this letter friendship will go on :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I also got my second letter from Emma from Scotland. She always sends little surprises with her letter and I really loved the stickers this time ♥ And how cute is the envelope and the paper? Popcorn all around! I'm always wondering where everybody gets all their cute papers and envelopes as I can't find such things around where I live...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Another second letter I was from Lisa from Belgium. Although I find it quite hard to read her handwriting she always uses really cute paper! And she send me something from the Pokemon World Championship thing she has been to lately. I still like Pokemon somehow, at least the first 150 Pokemons :D

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Let's move on to the letter I got from Danni from Ireland. I already knew her in person when we decided to write letters though we haven't had contact that much. But she really wanted to have a penpal so we decided to give it a go. And I really don't regret it! She is a wonderful person and it's always so much fun when she's around. She can hardly ever sit still ;) This is her first letter to me and she gave it to me personally, too, when I was in Dublin.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Here's the letter I got from Jariya from Iceland. Just like Lisa she uses really cute paper to write her letters on and also the envelopes are always really cute! And I really love the stickers she used ♥

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The last letter I got is from Jana from Germany. I already love this girl! Her letters are always so amazing and thougtful and I've the feeling I already know her for ages although I only got two letters from her so far. She always comes up with really nice ideas how to decorate her letters ♥ I had a big smile on my face all the time while I read this letter today!
Welcome to my snail mail blog ♥ (+ first incoming mail)
Inspired by my dear friend Caroline I decided to create a blog for all snail mail related things. I also decided to write this blog in English so that all my penpals and everybody, who is interested in general, can read it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Why have I decided to create a snail mail blog?

Like I said, I've been inspired by the blog of Caroline because her blog is really lovely! She brought back my interest in snail mail about a month ago after I lost it many years ago. Well, it actually wasn't me who lost interest in it, but all the people I wrote to started to fancy writing eMails or text messages. I used to have quite a few penpals which I found through a service of the German post. That was the first time I had penpals from overseas such as America or Africa. Unfortunately I lost contact to all of them.
But then I found a group on Facebook with so many people interested in snail mail that it was easy to find people to write with. That's the main reason I decided to create this blog. I want to show you all my incoming and outgoing mail and maybe even give some inspiration or tips on snail mail.

So, my name is Sabrina, I'm 26 and from the northwest of Germany. I love to write long letters and learn about cultures, languages and people from different countries. I love to look through old mail and bring back all the sweet memories. I hope I can gain a lot more memories with my new found penpals from all over the world!

When I joined the Facebook group and asked for people to become my penpals I got quite a lot of replies. Some people gave me their addresses so I could write them first and I gave my addresses to some people. I'm aware that I probably won't get a letter from every person I write to and that maybe not everybody will write the promised first letter, BUT nevertheless I already had a few nice experiences and got some lovely letters that I like to show you today! (everything since the beginning of July!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here you can see two postcards I got. The one at the top is from a friend who visited Hamburg and the lower one is from my Russian penpal Kate who visited Vladivostok during her summer holidays.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This is the first letter I got from somebody out of the Facebook group. It was sent by Alieke from The Netherlands. I really love the glossy prints which I used to collect when I was a lot younger. Sweet memories to my childhood! Thanks for that, Alieke!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The second letter I got was from Jariya from Iceland. She used really cute paper and even send me some Icelandic chocolate ♥ We have quite the same interests and I'm really looking forward on receiving more letters from her!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This letter is from Emma who lives in Scotland. Although it was the first letter she sent me, she included so many nice stationary I could hardly believe my eyes! I especially loved the robot sticker. And look at the cute paper she used to write her letter on ♥

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Next is a letter by my inspiration herself: Caroline from Ireland. She moved there recently and it's her first letter since a year and I can't describe how happy it made me to finally get a letter from her again. And the best thing is: we're going to meet in 5 days! The first penpal I get to meet. I'm really excited and there will definitely be a blogpost about it later!
She also send me some tea which I will drink after I finished this post! She's a tea addict ;)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Then I got a letter from Lisa from Belgium. She used really cute paper and the envelope was really adorable! And like me she likes to write long letters ♥

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The most recent letter I got is from Briana from the USA. Her letter was quite extraordinary as she didn't wrote normal but with little pictures and though it was hard to read at some points I really liked her letter. Hopefully the next letters get a little longer, though!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Last but not least I get a reply to my letter by my only male penpal: Ian from the USA. I'm really glad I got to know him because we seem to match quite good together. I guess I never laughed as much while reading a letter as when I read his. Such a great guy who I hope to establish a long-lasting friendship with! And: his letter was by far the longest of all that I received so far!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That's it for todays post. In the next days I'll show you some of my outgoing mail. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of every letter I sent, but as this blog wasn't planned I guess we can excuse that! In the future I change that, of course!
Have a nice evening everybody ♥
Sabrina
